The very accomplished sound mixer for our short film, JD McMillin, wrote about working on the film on the blog for his company McM Sound. JD has worked across film and television projects of all shapes and sizes, bringing his gifted ear and well-honed craft to each. It was an absolute pleasure collaborating with him on this project. Here's an excerpt of JD's post:
"Scratch is the story of a serial killer who is haunted by the devil. When writer/director Ronan Jorah hit up McM's JD McMillin about the mix, the idea was to create a world from the point of view of the killer. Jorah was very clear that he wanted the world itself to be a character in the film, so this allowed us to get really creative with the mix. While most of the sound design was provided, JD was able to treat the mix as a sound design element."

An important note, JD's name was misspelled in the credits of the film as it appears on YouTube. Not once, but twice! Our sincere apologies to JD McMillin. Read JD's full post on the McM Sound website below and be sure to check out more of his fantastic work while you're there!
